These organic coagulants are liquid, cationic polymers of differing molecular weights. They work effectively as primary coagulants and charge neutralization agents. Polyquaternium-6 is often used in filtration applications or in conjunction with our flocculant products. These polymers are highly effective in many water treatment clarification processes. PolyDADMAC andor cationic polyamines can also be used in combination with our flocculant and coagulant products to lower overall treatment costs.Water Treatment Polymers of Polydadmac can be used in many ways. MerquatTM 100 polymer is a highly charged cationic homopolymer for use in hair care, bath and shower applications. It has various attributes including leaving a soft, silky feel for hair and a smooth, velvety feel for skin. Polyquaternium-6 gathers electrolyte for the strong cation. It is clear to light yellow viscose liquid with freezing point -2.8℃, specific weight1.04gcm3, resolve temperature 280-300℃. Polyquaternium-6 is easy to dissolve in water, but not easy to combust. It has strong coagulate dint and good water solution stability. Polyquaternium-6 doesn't become gel and keep stable in the wide pH range. Anti-chlorine and high charge density, these characteristics make it become ideal product of hair stem. Polyquaternium-6 can also be applied in hair and skin care.

Usage

 

1. Polyquaternium-6 is a kind of homopolymer with high cationic activity. It can provide excellent conditioning effect for hair even in low concentration. In most shampoo, bleach, hair colorant and hair spray, the concentration generally is 0.5% ~ 1%.
2. Polyquaternium-6 can offer moist, glossy and rich foam. It can make the wet hair more smooth for combing and the antistatic ability and give hair a smooth, silly and lustrous touch.
3. Added into moisturizing cream, bath form, shaving cream and deodorant, Polyquaternium-6 contributes to excellent skin feel. The suggested concentration is 1% ~ 2%.
4. Polyquaternium-6 can improve dispersion, direct nature and activity of the functional elements which is used in hair and skin care.

 

Packing and Storage

Polyquaternium-6 can be packed into 125kg PE Drum. Pack and preserve the product in a sealed, cool and dry condition, and avoid contacting strong oxidants. The term of validity 12months. Transportation Non-dangerous goods.

Chemistry and Manufacture

Polyquat­ernium-6 (PQ-6) is the polymeric quaternary ammonium salt derived from the homopoly­merization of diallyld­imethylammonium chloride (DADMAC) monomer, as shown in Figure 1.1, 2 The grades of PQ-6 supplied to the personal care industry typically have weight-average molecular weight (Mw) values of ca. 150,000 gmol, although grades with Mw values as low as 15,000 gmol are available.3 PQ-6 is a strong polyelec­trolyte, i.e. it is comprised of repeating units that remain fully ionized in aqueous solutions independent of the solution pH value. In addition, PQ-6 has a relatively high cationic charge density because each repeating unit bears a positive charge. DADMAC monomer is synthesized commercially by the reaction of two key commodity precursors, dimethylamine and allyl chloride (see Figure 2).4, 5 Overall, two equivalents of allyl chloride are reacted with dimethylamine to yield the quaternary ammonium monomer and one equivalent of sodium chloride (NaCl). In this process, the hydrochloride salt of the monoally­ldimethylamine intermediate, i.e. allyldim­ethylammonium chloride, is neutralized in situ with one equivalent of sodium hydroxide to facilitate the addition of the second equivalent of allyl chloride. Depending on the specific process employed and the desired monomer purity, the NaCl may be left in the monomer product or separated from the DADMAC. Application Field
1. The polymer body contains strong cationic group radical and activated-adsorbent group radical which can destabilize and flocculate the suspended solids and the negative-charged water soluble matters in the waste water through electro-neutralization and bridging adsorption. It is very effective in flocculating, decoloring, killing algae and removing organics.
2. The product enjoys small dosage but can cause big flocs, rapid precipitation and low turbidity residue, and it can also produce small amount of sludge. It is adaptable to wide range of pH value, between 4.0 and 10.0.
3. It is smelless, tasteless and harmless. It can be widely used to treat source water and sewage water.

Application Method
1. When used alone, it should be diluted to the concentration of 0.5%-0.05% (based on solid content).
2. In dealing with different source water or waste water, the dosage is based on the turbidity and the concentration of the water. The most economical dosage is based on the trial.
3. The dosing spot and the mixing velocity should be carefully decided to guarantee that the chemical can be mixed evenly with the other chemicals in the water and the flocs can not be broken.
4. It is better to dose the product continuously.
